Review: Hotel Partana in Valle de Guadalupe
Commonly called the Napa of Mexico, Valle de Guadalupe is quickly becoming the “it” location for wine enthusiasts, foodies, and those who simply love to visit the hottest travel locations. And the most exciting gastronomy scene and boutique accommodations all happen at Hotel Partana. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and mountains, this boutique hotel is home to several culinary hot spots including the famous farm-to-table Finca Altozano and the Michelin-starred Animalon.
In our recent trip to Valle de Guadalupe, we stayed 4 nights at Hotel Partana. In this blog is my full review of this charming boutique hotel!
Hotel Partana is a great place for a fun weekend with friends, a romantic getaway, or for those who are simply wanting to eat good food and drink excellent wine. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and mountains, this boutique hotel is home to several culinary hot spots.
Once you check in Hotel Partana, it feels like there is no need to leave the property because everything that is typical of “Valle de Guadalupe” can be found here from picturesque vineyard settings to the region’s most famous restaurants.
The accommodations and restaurants blend almost seamlessly into the desert landscape!
As we arrived at the property, we were impressed with the stylish shipping containers, effortlessly blending in with the surrounding environment.
At check-in, the concierge offered me a complimentary travel bag that I used for my entire trip. The reception area is newly remodeled, looking all sophisticated with floor to ceiling windows offering the picturesque views of their vineyards.
Soon after entering the front gate, we passed rows of grapevines before reaching our room number 8 that is located right next to the swimming pool.
Imagine yourself waking up every morning with a cup of coffee, taking just a few steps from your room right to the pool and the hot tub with views of sprawling vineyards, and basking in the sunshine. This is truly a dream come true!
This intimate hotel consists of just 10 beautiful rooms with tasteful décor; thus providing only a small selection but create an intimate atmosphere with no disturbances and lots of peace and quiet.
Each room evokes a sense of tranquility through its minimalist design, which includes floor-to-ceiling windows and a private patio with a seating area overlooking the vineyards and the mountains in the distance.
The hotel is a testament to modern Mexican design. The color palette of the interiors boasts earth tones, crisp white bedding, and clean lines with dark stone accents.
All rooms are located steps away from the vineyards and feature king or queen size beds, AC, mini bar, and a coffee maker.
When we travel, the hotel that delights me the most is the one that has a decent coffee maker in the room. And I’m always happy when I see a Nespresso coffee maker because it’s the best coffee maker out there (much better than Keurig!).
If you are an avid coffee drinker you will taste the difference right away! The silky texture of the coffee and the rich taste is undeniable. I have always been the kind of coffee drinker who likes a little cream and sugar in my coffee, but with Nespresso coffee maker I can drink it black which I never would have done before.
And Hotel Partana has thought of everything to make their guests’ stay comfortable, starting with a good cup of coffee before jumping out of bed.
And one thing we love most about our room is the luxurious state-of-the-art en suite bathroom.
In the demanding world of hospitality, the quality and design of bathrooms is as critical as the choice of master suite. And Hotel Partana has done a wonderful job in designing their bathrooms.
Their bathrooms combine beautiful stonework, pale colors, and indirect lighting to create a monochromatic marvel. This is the kind of bathroom that makes you never want to leave your hotel room. This is where guests can really unwind, and change how we feel about a hotel as a whole!
They provide a little bit of everything, from incredibly spacious walk-in shower to lush bathrobes that make us feel we are in heaven.
We love our private terrace with lounging sofa, a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sweeping views of the mountains and vineyards.
Staying at Hotel Partana allows for romantic walks through the vineyards, intimate experiences with nature, and opportunities to completely relax.
The best thing about going on vacation is being able to get some much needed relaxation. For us the best mode of relaxation is by the pool. Nothing beats that first dip into a cool pool as you submerge your entire body and escape the world around you.
And Hotel Partana‘s chic pool will not disappoint – it is just as impressive in person as it is in pictures. Lounging at the edge of this pool and gazing out over the vineyards will surely give you all the vibes of Mexican wine country – nature, tranquility, solitude, and luxury.
The pool area is complete with comfy lounging chairs, cabana-style seating area when you seek refuge from the sun. The warm waters of the jacuzzi at sunset or night time with your traveling partner and good wine will refresh your soul and make for the perfect ending to your day in Valle de Guadalupe.
Hotel Partana is a few of the food-focused hotels in the region that will help to ease it all. Not only Hotel Partana excels in hospitality and design, but they are also conveniently located within a few walking steps to world-class dining. Stay here, stay awhile, and enjoy the serene and delectable lifestyle of ‘The Valle’.
The hotel sits on the same property as Finca Altozano, Lupe, Das Cortez, and Animalón, which puts some of the best food and drink of the region right at your Valle doorstep and allows guests the opportunity to experience the ultimate combination of wine, food, and stay.
Finca Altozano was our favorite restaurant during our stay at Hotel Partana. It’s only a few minutes walk from our cabin to Finca so we ended up walking our dogs to have lunch here everyday.
Finca Altozano is owned and operated by celebrity chef Javier Plascencia. This open air restaurant is a trendy oasis seemingly in the middle of nowhere. With its open dining space, it’s a place to enjoy excellent food, wine, and scenic views.
The chef has done a fantastic job of serving upscale food in a casual setting. We ordered several dishes, all of which come from local ranches, farms, and fishermen in the region. The Reina Clam in tomato ponzu with green olives and cherry tomatoes is a must order!
The restaurant gets very busy on the weekends so we highly recommend a reservation. Don’t forget to stop by to visit the farm animals and gardens down the hill.
Finca has several guards dogs wandering around the property at all times and these dogs are so calm and polite; one of them (the German Shepherd) was our tour guide the entire time, showing us his favorite photo spots around restaurant.
The most notable feature of Finca is the Insta-worthy huge wine barrels scattered around their garden. Arrive around sunset and grab your seats in one of these barrels; you will be treated to some spectacular sunset view!
There is also Lupe for more casual fare – tortas – served out of a vintage airstream.
Also located inside Hotel Partana’s property is Das Cortez coffee shop which is famous for their delicious coffee of Mexican origin with unique taste from the region. Highly recommend their iced latte lavender!
To pair with your Latte Lavender from Das Cortez is delicious ice cream from the gelateria and gift shop next door.
There are many lounging spots around these shops for you to enjoy your lazy summer days. Hotel Partana is truly an all-purpose destination that you could spend a whole day soaking in the Valle life.
Another perk of staying at Hotel Partana was that they’re pet-friendly. So bring your pets when you visit Partana!
A stay at Hotel Partana is unlike any other where luxury meets simplicity. Consider Hotel Partana for your next Valle de Guadalupe getaway that includes luxurious accommodations, flavorful wine, delicious food, and incredible views.
