To us, Valle de Guadalupe is a perfect combination of Joshua Tree desert vibes merged with Napa Valley Wine Country. You get the best of both worlds here: the desert landscape with enormous boulders and cacti intertwined with rows and rows of lush green grapevines. Although Valle de Guadalupe is known as “the affordable Napa”, the truth is this area can be very expensive. There’s a whole culinary and five-star luxury accommodation scene in the Valle so expect to pay US prices. If you’re eager to embrace the Mexico wine country experience without breaking the bank, then budget-friendly accommodation like the Descanso Fenix Airbnb is the answer!
In our opinion, Descanso Fenix Airbnb is the best budget Airbnb in Valle de Guadalupe for a modern comfortable stay without the high price tag. At the average daily rate of only $50-$60, this Airbnb offers modern amenities, sleek design, and impeccable cleanliness all at a fraction of the cost of its upscale counterparts.
If you travel in your campervan like us, you know that RV parks/campgrounds around Ensenada and the Valle are quite expensive ($30-$40/night). So just for a few extra $$ more you get the comforts of hotel amenities and gated community with top-notch security. Descanso Fenix Airbnb really brings a lot of values for your bucks.
Besides the attractive low rate, what we love most about Descanso is its resemblance to Joshua Tree. When we passed through the front gate, the desert vibes hit us strong but in the most peaceful and subtle way. The whole property is the ultimate retreat – a desert lovers’ paradise!
This intimate Airbnb consists of just 3 units with tasteful décor and boho desert landscaping throughout; thus providing only a small selection but create an intimate atmosphere with no disturbances and lots of peace and quiet.
Descanso Fenix Airbnb is ideal in that it feels isolated and secluded, but everything is close by for whatever you need, allowing you to experience the Valle at its best. Only 3 mins to the famous El Cielo Winery, 8 mins to the Bloodlust Wine Bar, and 10 mins to the World’s Best Breakfast – La Cocina de Dona Esthela.
Descanso’s central location made it super easy and convenient for us to explore the Valle. Most of the dirt roads in Guadalupe are often bumpy, but the dirt road lead to Fenix is very smooth and flat, only 2-min easy drive to the main road. The house is in a quiet neighborhood set back from the road with a fully fenced yard and front entrance gate. We love their spacious yard with lots of rooms for our dogs to run around.
The secure surrounding gate made us feel like we were in our own little piece of paradise. And their state-of-the-art security system made us feel very safe in seclusion!
The cabins blend almost seamlessly into the desert landscape. The outdoor features boho style shaded picnic areas, hammocks, lounging chairs, and fire pit.
Can’t you picture yourself relaxing by the fire here with a glass of wine in your hand watching the sunset or starry sky over desert plants and vineyards? The design compliments the barren landscape around you; the vibes is tranquil and modern.
Descanso Fenix is truly a tranquil retreat in the Valle. Entering the cabin, the first thing that caught our eyes is the use of floor-to-ceiling window to let in natural light and sweeping mountain and desert views.
Our cabin is thoughtfully designed in shades of white and black. The decor is minimal yet comfortable, with every amenity and detail kept in mind.
And the surprisingly spacious bathroom features a large walk-in shower, a custom-made sink, modern fixtures, and spacious countertops.
Descanso Fenix Airbnb provides guests with everything they need for a pleasant stay including: a Keurig coffee maker, a fridge, a microwave, utensils, comfortable mattresses/bedding, air conditioning and heating units. Extra linens, blankets, towels, a hair dryer, an iron, and complimentary water bottles are also provided.
The most notable feature of the cabins is the simple and modern rooftop terrace. Offering cozy outdoor lounging chairs, infinite skies and mountains, it’s our favorite spot to enjoy a glass of wine with the sunset.
During nightfall, the whole property becomes all more magical as the string lights turn on and illuminated from the moon and bright stars.
Barren landscape, magical starry sky, and spooky coyote howling all bring a sense of solitude and seclusion at the same time provide endless opportunities for adventures. Who needs a luxury hotel when you can have this contemporary oasis all to yourself?
